John Carmy Iam pleased i hired a car from athenscars. I visited the island of paradise December 19th 2012. I stayed for a week and cannot avoid writing about the great car hire service they supplied in Crete - Heraklion airport! The vehicle(Nissan Micra) was clean and powerful enough to drive all over the island places. Thank you for all, i had spent a wonderful time. Till next time- John from cold Sweden !!! We expressed our intention via email and got our reply (car rental offer) within minutes, the car was really well-maintained and the young man who waited for us at the hotel reception was helpful and kind enough to wait until we finish our breakfast... We have already prepaid the car rental cost, so the price was really good comparing to others... selected this firm not only because they offered the best price but more importantly, the rep was by far the most helpful and courteous manager.
Plus their contract was in English and German language... which helped us with the whole procedure.We rented a Fiat Panda at less than a month's notice from car-hire-crete.gr. I sent e-mails, and all the replies were responded within 1 hour,

We enjoyed an amazing week driving the island, and we dropped off the car back at the airport. We paid only £110 for the week!
If we'd hire a taxi transfer to the villa that alone would have cost us £50 (for each 4 of us).
Great service and value/price average .I was very pleased with the customer service that this company offered us. I was surprised at how fast the process was and i pleased with the car selection they had to offer. I had gotten the navigation for an extra 5 euro a day and it saved me a lot of time to getting from place to place.
I highly recommend that you try renting from rent-a-car-heraklion.com they are able to beat or match the other major competitors. They were there for me within 1 hour at no cost to me. I rented a Toyota Yaris, a great little car as a city run-around, and I would recommend something like this for driving in a island like Crete. The firms's office at Heraklion Airport about a minute walk from the arrivals gate which makes car collection & return very easy.
